Sustainability
We here at Shmata value eco-friendliness and sustainability in what we sell, which is why almost all our clothing is repurposed. Whether it was overstock inventory heading to the landfill, used clothing looking for a fresh home, or new items pulled from the shelves of someone that went out of business, we source what we sell with the planet in mind.
Considering the massive carbon footprint that the fashion industry leaves all over the world and the waste it produces, at Shamata we believe that increasing the life span of products is fundamental to combatting pollution and climate change. Each of us plays our own role in making the economy more efficient and helping future generations enjoy the world we live in today. This is why we are hardcore believers that the circular economy is the way forward for our society and that we all can contribute by making a little less and reusing a little more.
As Shmata grows and expands, so will our environmental stewardship efforts and the role we play in the community. Make sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with what we’re up to and see how you can get involved too! You can find our social media accounts at the bottom of the page.
